Particle soot absorption photometer aboard aircraft

Baseline Instrument, Guest

The particle soot absorption photometer collects aerosol particles on a substrate and measures the change in light transmission relative to a reference filter. Bulk particle absorption is derived after correcting for scattering effects. It samples from the Counterflow Virtual Impactor (CVI) and isokinetic inlets.
